Rifles of the IRA

An IRA propaganda vid released on a provo website:
Points to note:
The type of homemade mortar used at the start of the vid in the attack on the British army watch tower is basically the same technology that was provided by the IRA to FARC, the Columbian terrorist group, in exchange for FARC dumping several million of their coke money into IRA bank accounts.
The video also shows an IRA unit attempting to shoot down a Lynx, similar to the one which was recently shot down by insurgents in Iraq. The AK-47’s in the vid originated from a the Libyan arms shipments, given to the IRA by Colonel Gaddafi during the 1980’s in revenge for Maggie Thatchers support US bombing raids against his regime. The 50 cal Russian machine guns the IRA used in the attempt to shoot down the British helicopter are also from the same shipment.
The M16A1’s were provided by Irish-American sympathisers who stole them from US National Guard arsenals and shipped them back to Ireland.
The 50 cal sniper rifles were also provided by US sympathisers. These were put to effective use by the IRA’s South Armagh units. Being a highly effective weapon, they were exploited for their propaganda value with the famous South Armagh road sign. The image from that sign was also used on Sinn Fein/IRA’s propaganda merchandise as well.
The FN’s and Heckler & Koch assault rifles I believe were purchased through international arms dealers.
All these weapons are now thankfully decomissioned. Although if the IRA ever decided to resume a war footing, they could probably obtain weapons easily enough, as they themselves have pointed out.
