Enjoy piracy!
Three programs I use to copy DVD movies:
Start Smartripper and select the Backup option. This breaks the DVD disk’s encryption and copies the contents to your PC’s hard drive
Run DVD Fab and select the ‘Copy Main Movie from DVD’ option. Then browse to where Smartripper copied the DVD backup files. DVD fab restructures the disk contents so the can be copied onto 1 or 2 DVDR’s without the need for any compression and consequent loss of quality - unlike other DVD copying software.
Finally run Copy2DVD and browse to where DVD Fab dumped the restructured movie files. Then burn onto disk.
Points to note:
When using DVD Fab: subtitles are best left out as sometimes they tend to appear by default when a copied disk is played in a DVD player. Ditto for stuff like directors commentary which you don’t really need anyway.
There is a plugin for DVD fab which allows you to copy a movie directly from a disk. But I have found it’s easier just to use a separate program for this like SmartRipper.
