What do you get when you cross an AK-47 with an M16?

It's an M16 Jim, but not as we know it

The US Special Forces have been testing this out in Afghanistan. It’s similar to the M4 rifle, but instead of firing the usual 5.56mm round, it fires a 7.62mm AK round using a standard AK mag. The main advantage being if they are a on a long rang patrol, they can replenish using the local variety of AK ammunition while using a rifle they are familiar with and which can use all the standard attachments which come with the M16/M4 family of assault rifles.
